What is crush energy?
And how you can use it to be more magnetic
Happy Friday, Intentionalists!
We’re big proponents of ‘bloom-scrolling’ – finding people to follow on social media who amaze, amuse and delight us. One of these gorgeous beings is Florence Given on Instagram.
We’re particularly impressed by her take on ‘crush energy’.
For the more modest of you, this might be a little spicy, but bear with us. Florence recommends that we should walk out the door in the morning like we have just had ‘the best shag of our life’.
She calls this harnessing your ‘crush energy’.
The benefits of going into the morning with this attitude are:
A sense of well-being and flirtatiousness that you have generated within yourself. It isn’t dependent on whether someone stays with you or leaves you. ‘When they go, the magic stays’.
Crush energy puts a skip in your step, a smile on your face and makes the world feel new and exciting. Opportunities and possibilities for creative collaborations, exciting projects and romantic relationships that you didn’t notice before will open up to you because you are viewing the world through different eyes.
You become magnetic, and people will be drawn to you and will want to cheer you on. Think of that line from the romantic comedy When Harry Met Sally: ‘I’ll have what she’s having!’
What’s the difference between crush energy and being delusional? With crush energy, you’re intentionally and consciously generating a feeling within yourself using the principles of neuroscience.
We’ll let Florence explain it to you more thoroughly in her video in our PS section.
But meanwhile, if going out into the world today in a state of sensual ‘after-glow’ isn’t going to work for you, then go out with the energy of having just fallen in love or landed your dream job or won the lottery.
Whatever you do, make it a practice to live your life with BIG energy. You will almost certainly draw wonderful things to yourself – and please drop us a line and tell us about them when you do!
🤍 THINGS BELINDA IS LOVING - Since I was a child, I’ve sensed wonder in nature. Recently, as I’ve been walking around my neighbourhood, I’ve discovered some magic portals and pathways. They give me a shiver of delight when I walk through them as the air crackles with possibility. I hope you enjoy them.
🖤 THINGS KELLY IS LOVING - When the Anthology first came out in 1995, it’s fair to say it changed my life. It was like being shot with adrenaline. They felt like home and still do today. I remember asking my mum. ‘Which one is THAT?!’* Beatles Anthology 4 JUST came out! I’m loving exploring new mixes and hearing them chattering away.
*It was John Lennon *SWOOOOOON*

KELLY’S SILLY BIT
Victorian Slang
What is it about Victorian slang that makes it so delicious? Words that either sound like songs, or a Willy Wonka chocolate bar.
How came you so?
Meaning: Drunk or intoxicatedWho else read this in a Welsh accent?
Daddles
Meaning: Hands or fists
To tip someone the daddle is a far nicer way of saying punch. You can say tip us your daddle (also tip us your dad), which means, let’s shake hands.
Drumsticks
Meaning: Legs
It turns out … this can mean penis. How erotic. Not.Graveled
Meaning: Perplexed or bewildered
I thought this one would have meant drunk!Bricky
Meaning: Brave nature. A bricky person isn’t afraid of anything.
Love this! If you’ve got moxie, you’re bricky!Wake snakes
Meaning: To get into mischief
Ok, Intentionalists, we’re bringing this one back!Whooperups
Meaning: People who sing really loudly, even though they can’t sing.
More Victorian Slang:
Stop arguing for your limitations
Feel like a failure?
I hope you wake snakes this weekend, be bricky!
Be an intentionalist.
