Happy Friday, Intentionalists!
Let’s make it a good one.
PROMPT QUESTIONS
What comes to mind when you think about being cool?
Sometimes, because of how society promotes what cool is, our imagination jumps to the haughty supermodel with the jetset tan and designer clothes. But thinking more deeply about it, arrogance is the opposite of cool.
People who are truly cool are unusually fascinated by life! They pursue their hobbies and passions unapologetically. They dress in a way that suits them and makes them feel good, regardless of fashion. And because they genuinely like and value themselves, they tend to be friendly and interested in others too.
Because they are so grounded and self-assured, they don’t compare themselves to others. We’ve titled this ‘Become the coolest person you know’ because cool people don’t judge others negatively, they focus on being their best selves and mind their own business.
Write down the name of someone you regard as cool and all the qualities you like about them, especially any you would like to emulate.
Now write down the ways you already embody some of those qualities, even in their most rudimentary form. Look at yourself through someone else’s eyes.
How could you take one of those qualities and increase it tenfold? What actions would you need to take? What sort of mindset would you need to adopt? What habits would you have to change? Commit to developing this quality every day over the next seven days.
Also for the next seven days, first thing in the morning, write down in your journal something that you really like about yourself. Then write down something you really like about someone or something else. Do the same thing each evening.
Do the above exercises every day for the next seven days. We bet you will be feeling way cooler about yourself in no time.
FEEL GOOD AFFIRMATION
I feel great about myself and my life.
I enjoy what I do and I find others fascinating.
(Write this out slowly ten times)
KELLY’S GIGGLE GIVERS
This week I'm back with silly words. I have a couple of anatomical terms that sound like something completely different …
Weenus (Wenis or Weenis) • [wee-nus]
Meaning: A slang term for that loose piece of skin on your elbow
It’s technically called olecranal skin
Flagina • [fla-gy-nah]
Meaning: Slang for the skin between your thumb and pointer finger
It's technically called your purlicue
These are slang words, not ones your doctor would use, but fun nevertheless to bring up at your next dinner party!
Let us know if you do!
Be an intentionalist.
When you feel good, you feel inspired, passionate, confident and ready to be your greatest self.
With Love and Intention,
